Product Description:
The 990-05-50-03-01 Vibration Transmitter is intended primarily for the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of centrifugal air compressors or small pumps, motors, or fans who prefer to provide a simple 4 to 20 mA proportional vibration signal as the input to their machinery control system. The transmitter is a two-wire, loop-powered device that accepts input from our 3300 NSv proximity probe and its matching extension cable (available in 5 m and 7 m system length options).

Q:Does this transmitter require a separate Proximitor sensor?
A:No. The 990 series features an integrated Proximitor sensor built directly into the transmitter housing. You plug the probe's extension cable directly into the coaxial connector on the transmitter, removing the need for an external driver unit.
Q:How do I capture dynamic wave data for diagnostic testing?
A:The 990 transmitter includes non-isolated "PROX OUT" and "COM" terminals, alongside a dedicated coaxial BNC connector. You can attach a portable data collector or oscilloscope to these terminals to extract unconditioned gap voltage and dynamic vibration wave signals without interrupting the primary 4-20 mA loop.
Q:How should the wiring shield be grounded?
A:To avoid introducing loop-induced measurement noise, signal input wiring must maintain continuous shielding from the probe head to the transmitter. The shield must be terminated at a single-point ground reference (typically at the control system/DCS side), and must never be grounded at both ends.
