Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 330101-00-25-10-01-00 is a 3300 XL 8 mm proximity probe for non-contact vibration and position monitoring in critical rotating machinery. It operates on eddy current technology to measure structural changes like shaft radial vibration and axial thrust. The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.
Application:
Fluid-Film Bearing Monitoring: Tracks the minute movements of rotating shafts within their hydrodynamic oil films. This prevents metal-to-metal boundary contact between the shaft journal and the bearing liner.
Radial Vibration Tracking: Typically mounted in an orthogonal X-Y configuration (90° apart) relative to the shaft axis. This arrangement maps full dynamic orbital paths to detect imbalances, misalignments, or structural looseness.
Axial Position Monitoring (Thrust): Measures the shifting baseline distance to a shaft shoulder or thrust collar. This tracks longitudinal movement, preventing catastrophic internal rotor-to-stator axial collisions.
Keyphasor® & Speed Measurements: References a machined notch or keyway on a rotating shaft once per revolution. This acts as a phase trigger to calculate absolute shaft rotational velocity and isolate vector-based phase angles.

Q:Can I mix this probe with older non-XL components?
A:Yes, 3300 XL 8 mm components are physically and electrically interchangeable with non-XL 3300 5 mm and 8 mm components. However, mixing them will limit total system performance to the legacy, non-XL specifications.
Q:How do the ClickLoc connectors work?
A:The gold-plated ClickLoc connectors require only finger-tight torque. They lock into place with an audible "click" to prevent self-loosening and do not require specialized installation tools.
Q:What components make up the complete system?
A:The probe cannot operate alone. It requires a complete 3300 XL 8mm Transducer System consisting of this probe, a matching 3300 XL extension cable, and a 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor.
