The Bently Nevada 330101-00-16-05-01-00 is an industrial eddy current proximity probe belonging to the 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Transducer System. It is widely used to monitor shaft vibration and displacement in high-speed rotating machinery like turbines and compressors.The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.

A:By default, the system is factory-calibrated to AISI 4140 steel. If your machine rotor shaft uses a different target alloy, the average scale factor (typically 200 mV/mil) will shift, and custom calibration or scale correction factor charts must be applied.
Q:Can I use this probe with an older, non-XL 3300 system?
A:Yes. The 3300 XL 8 mm components are both physically and electrically interchangeable with standard non-XL 3300 5 mm and 8 mm components. However, mixing older non-XL parts with XL parts limits the entire system's performance to non-XL accuracy specifications.

Q:Do I need an extension cable for this 0.5-meter probe?
A:Yes. To construct a standard 5-meter or 9-meter proximity transducer system, you must pair this 0.5-meter probe with a 4.5-meter or 8.5-meter extension cable (such as the Bently Nevada 330130). The total length of the probe plus the extension cable must exactly match the system calibration length of your Proximitor Sensor.
