Product Description:

The 990-08-XX-03-00 Vibration Transmitter is intended primarily for the original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) of centrifugal air compressors or small pumps, motors, or fans who prefer to provide a simple 4 to 20 mA proportional vibration signal as the input to their machinery control system.The transmitter is a two-wire, loop-powered device that accepts input from our 3300 NSv proximity probe and its matching extension cable (available in 5 m and 7 m system length options).

Application:

Centrifugal Air Compressors: Its primary target market. It excels in monitoring the high-frequency, small-clearance rotor shafts typical of centrifugal compressors
Small to Medium Pumps: Used on fluid-handling pumps driven by sleeve bearings to track shaft dynamic movement and detect premature bearing wear or misalignment.
Industrial Electric Motors: Monitors radial shaft vibration on larger electric motors powering heavy manufacturing or refining loops.
Cooling Tower & Ventilation Fans: Provides an affordable, continuous vibration-trending solution for balance tracking on large industrial air-moving fans.

Q:Does this transmitter require a separate external Proximitor?
A:No. The module features an integrated Proximitor sensor conditioning circuit built directly into the housing. It directly conditions raw signal output from the probe tip and outputs the standardized mA current loop.
Q:How do you troubleshoot a "Not OK" loop fault?
A:The device integrates a Not OK / Signal Defeat circuit to prevent false control alarms due to damaged wiring or a loose probe connector. Under a standard fault condition, the loop current drops below <3.6 mA within 100 microseconds, signaling a probe gap violation or loop discontinuity to your PLC.

Q:Are zero and span adjustments interactive?
A:No. The device features non-interacting zero and span potentiometers positioned directly beneath the outer transmitter label. Adjusting one control parameter does not alter or skew the other, making baseline calibration straightforward.
