Product Description:

The primary uses for the 330903-00-12-05-02-05 3300 NSv Proximity Probes are for areas where counter bore, sideview, or rearview restrictions limit the use of standard Bently Nevada 3300 and 3300 XL 5 and 8 mm Transducer Systems. It is also ideal for small target applications, such as measuring radial vibration on shafts smaller than 51 mm (2 in) or axial position on flat targets smaller than 15 mm (0.6 in).

Q:What does "NSv" mean and when should I use this probe?
A:NSv stands for Narrow Side View. Standard eddy-current proximity probes project a wide magnetic field, causing false readings if a counterbore or machine wall is too close to the probe tip. The 3300 NSv series has a constrained lateral field pattern, making it ideal for confined installations with extreme sideview or rearview restrictions.
Q:Can I use this probe as a direct replacement for an older system?
A:Yes. The 3300 NSv probe is mechanically and electrically backward-compatible with Bently Nevada’s older 3300 RAM proximity probe series. However, if you are upgrading from legacy 3000-series or 7000-series 190 systems, you must replace the entire loop—including the probe, extension cable, and Proximitor sensor.

Q:Why is the integral cable only 0.5 metres long?
A:Industrial proximity loops require a precise total electrical length—typically 5.0 metres or 9.0 metres. The short 0.5-metre integral probe cable is meant to exit the machine housing immediately, connecting to a separate 3300 XL extension cable (e.g., 4.5 metres) to achieve a complete 5.0-metre loop tuning.
