Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 330709-050-120-90-02-00 is an industrial-grade 3300 XL 11 mm Proximity Probe designed for non-contacting vibration and displacement measurements on heavy rotating machinery.The 3300 XL 11 mm Proximitor Sensor is designed to replace the 7200-series 11 mm and 14 mm Transducer Systems. When upgrading from the 7200-series system to the 3300 XL 11 mm system, every component must be replaced with 3300 XL 11 mm components. In addition, the monitoring system must be updated. If using a 3500 Monitoring System, an updated version of the configuration software that lists the 3300 XL 11 mm Transducer System as a compatible option is required.
Application:
Radial Vibration & Radial Position: Monitors dynamic shaft vibration (orbit analysis) and static shaft alignment within fluid film bearings.
Ramp Differential Expansion: Tracks how much faster a steam turbine rotor expands compared to its stationary outer casing during high-temperature startup sequences. The extended 11 mm linear range is necessary here to capture large structural expansions.
Steam and Gas Turbine Systems:This probe is widely applied on steam and gas turbines to monitor shaft vibration, axial position, and differential expansion. The extended cable length simplifies installation when sensors must be routed over long distances inside turbine halls or power station
Natural Gas Compression Stations:In compressor stations, the probe is installed on centrifugal and process compressors to provide continuous shaft condition data. Its long cable design is well suited for skid-mounted equipment where monitoring cabinets are separated from the compressor package.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q:Can I mix this probe with components from other Bently Nevada series?
A:No. The components of the 3300 XL 11 mm system (probe, extension cable, and Proximitor sensor) are electrically tuned specifically to match each other. Mixing them with older 7200 series parts or standard 8 mm systems will distort measurements and invalidate the calibration.
Q:What are the target size and shaft diameter constraints?
A:To guarantee specified accuracy without cross-talk interference, a flat target must have a minimum diameter of 30.5 mm (1.2 in). If installing around a curved shaft, the minimum shaft diameter must be 152 mm (6.0 in).
Q:How should the miniature ClickLoc coaxial connector be tightened?
A:The electrical connector should only be tightened finger-tight. Bently Nevada discourages using pliers or tools, stating a maximum torque limit of 0.565 N·m (5 in·lb).
