Product Description:

The 330500-08-04 Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor is a specific configuration of the Velomitor piezoelectric velocity sensor, an industrial-grade accelerometer with built-in solid-state electronics for measuring absolute housing or structural vibration.The Bently Nevada™ Velomitor piezoelectric velocity sensor is used to measure absolute (relative to free space) vibration of bearing housings, housings, or structures. The 330500 is a dedicated piezoelectric accelerometer with a solid-state design and integrated electronics. Because the 330500 uses solid-state electronics and has no moving parts, it is free from mechanical aging and wear issues and can be mounted vertically, horizontally, or at any angle.

A:Unlike older moving-coil velocity transducers (like the Bently Nevada Seismoprobe series), a Velomitor is a piezoelectric accelerometer with internal integrating electronics. Because it has no moving parts, it does not suffer from mechanical wear, degradation, or stiction over time.
Q:What orientation can the sensor be mounted in?
A:It can be mounted at any orientation angle (vertical, horizontal, or inverted) without any change in sensitivity or calibration. Moving-coil sensors are heavily restricted by mounting angles due to gravity forces acting on the internal spring-mass assembly.

Q:What is the maximum recommended cable length?
A:The sensor can drive a maximum cable length of 305 meters (1,000 feet) of approved Bently Nevada cable (such as Part Number 175873) without any signal degradation.
