Bently Nevad 330500-06-04 Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor This sensor is designed for monitoring absolute vibration of housings, structures, or bearing pedestals in hazardous industrial environments requiring ATEX, IECEx, or CSA explosion-proof certification. The Bently Nevada™ Velomitor piezo-velocity sensor measures absolute (relative to free space) vibration of bearing pedestals, housings, or structures. The 330500 is a dedicated piezo-accelerometer with a solid-state design and integrated electronics. Because the 330500 uses solid-state electronics and has no moving parts, it is free from mechanical aging and wear, and can be mounted vertically, horizontally, or at any angle.

Power Generation: Standard on balance-of-plant machinery, cooling tower fans, and fuel feed systems.
Chemical & Petrochemical Processing: Protects mixers, agitators, and heavy-duty gas transport compressors operating near hazardous chemical processes.
Oil & Gas (Upstream & Downstream): Deployed on offshore platforms, refineries, LNG terminals, and pipeline pumping stations where hydrocarbon vapors are continuously present.
Water & Wastewater Treatment: Monitors high-capacity raw water pumps and aeration blowers.

Q:Does the sensor have a mounting orientation restriction?
A:No. Unlike older moving-coil seismic transducers that require strict vertical or horizontal positioning, the 330500 uses a solid-state piezoelectric structure with integrated electronics. It can be mounted at any angle of orientation without physical degradation or signal issues
Q:What torque should be used during installation?
A:The maximum recommended mounting torque is 46 kg-cm (40 in-lb). Exceeding this torque can stretch or damage the 5/8-18 UNF adapter stud or crack the internal sensor base interface. Always mount on a flat, clean machined surface to ensure accurate high-frequency transmission.
Q:How do I verify if the sensor is functioning using a multimeter?
A:You can verify the health of the 330500 by measuring its Output Bias Voltage (OBV). Under normal, quiet conditions (powered by the monitor rack), the DC bias voltage measured between Pin A and Pin B should read approximately -12 VDC (±3.0 VDC) over its operating temperature. A reading close to 0 VDC or full supply voltage indicates a short circuit, open wiring, or a dead internal amplifier.
