Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 330500-02-CN Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor paired with the 84661-16 Interconnect Cable is an industry-standard hardware combination used for continuous structural vibration and casing monitoring of heavy rotating machinery. Bently Nevada Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensors are designed to measure absolute (relative to free space) bearing housing, casing, or structural vibration. The 330500 is a specialized piezoelectric accelerometer that incorporates embedded integrated electronics in a solid-state design.
Application:
Oil & Gas Facilities: Used to monitor casing and structural vibration on large centrifugal compressors, heavy-duty pumps, and gas turbines operating in explosive processing zones where stringent explosion-proof safety certification is required.
Power Generation Plants: Deployed on the outer bearing housings and machine casings of steam turbines, gas turbines, and large generators to detect rotor-generated faults transmitted through the machine frame.
Petrochemical & Chemical Processing: Applied to critical mixers, agitators, and high-pressure pumps dealing with volatile chemical compounds.
Balance-of-Plant (BoP) Assets: Used across secondary industrial infrastructure to monitor large induction motors, cooling tower fans, exhaust blowers, and gearboxes where using standard internal proximity probes is impractical.

Q:Can this sensor measure displacement directly?
A:No. The sensor outputs a signal proportional to velocity. While the signal can be integrated by a monitoring framework to estimate displacement, doing so can amplify electrical noise and lead to data degradation.
Q:What is the maximum mounting torque?
A:Torque Limit: The maximum allowable mounting torque is 46 kg⋅cm (40 in⋅lb). Exceeding this can damage the sensor casing or thread adapter.
Q:Can the sensor be mounted at an angle?
A:Yes. Because it is an integrating piezo-accelerometer with solid-state electronics and no moving internal parts, it suffers no mechanical degradation based on orientation. It can be mounted vertically, horizontally, or at any angle.
