Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 330500-02-CN is an industrial Velomitor Piezo-Velocity Sensor paired with the 84661-50, a 50-foot armored interconnect cable. This sensor system measures absolute bearing housing, casing, or structural casing vibration on heavy rotating machinery. Bently Nevada Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensors are designed to measure absolute (relative to free space) bearing housing, casing, or structural vibration. The 330500 is a specialized piezoelectric accelerometer that incorporates embedded integrated electronics in a solid-state design.
Application:
Gas & Steam Turbines: Tracks continuous casing vibration to prevent catastrophic rotor misalignment or structural fatigue.
Generators: Monitors the main bearing housings for unbalance or structural deformation under massive electrical loads
Centrifugal & Axial Compressors: Crucial for tracking gas process machinery performance and preventing surge-induced casing damage.

A:Yes. Traditional velocity meters use moving internal coils that sag if tilted. Because the 330500 uses a solid-state piezoelectric ceramic shear-mode design, it has zero moving parts. You can safely mount it vertically, horizontally, or at any intermediate angle without losing accuracy.
Q:Where is the ideal spot to mount this hardware?
A:Attach the sensor directly to the bearing housing or heavy machine casing. Ensure the surface is machined flat and free of paint. Imbalance or misalignment issues travel outward via the rotor; placing the sensor far from the bearing path dampens the signal and introduces inaccurate data.
Q:Why am I seeing erratic values or high noise floor errors?
A:This issue typically stems from integrating velocity data into displacement data over long distances. Over-amplifying low-frequency electrical noise degrades accuracy.
