Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 330194-04-20-50-CN is a 3300 XL 8 mm Extended Temperature Range (ETR) Proximity Probe featuring an M10 x 1 metric thread. The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system also fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability. All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems provide this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need to match or bench calibrate individual components.
Application:
Steam & Gas Turbines: Installed inside turbine housings to capture absolute shaft vibration, thermal expansion shifts, and eccentricity during startup or operation.
Hydroelectric Turbines: Tracks misalignment and radial runout caused by hydraulic forces.
Generators & Exciters: Measures critical shaft position and dynamic movement at extreme operating temperatures.
Industrial Blowers and Large Fans: Monitors air-handling infrastructure to detect unbalance or misalignment early.

Q:What is the standard target gap voltage when setting up this probe?
A:When gapping this probe against a carbon steel rotor shaft, the normal target gap voltage should be set to -10.0 Vdc (typically within a normal range of −9 V to −11 V DC). This positions the sensor directly in the middle of its linear operating window.
Q:Can I use this probe in explosion-hazardous areas?
A:Yes. The -CN suffix ensures that the hardware complies with Chinese NEPSI intrinsic safety criteria alongside foundational ATEX and IECEx certifications. For valid installation in hazardous domains, you must route the signal through a certified galvanically isolated safety barrier inside the Bently Nevada 3500 Monitoring Rack or equivalent system enclosure.
Q:Is an extra insulation plate needed for mounting?
A:No. The underlying engineering of the 3300 XL series integrates an electrical isolation plate directly into its system base. Separate phenolic isolator plates are not required unless your specific facility protocols demand double-fault extreme isolation from the structural machine housing.
