Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 330194-08-18-50-00 is an Extended Temperature Range (ETR) 8 mm Proximity Probe for non-contact vibration and shaft displacement monitoring in heavy-duty rotating machinery. It is primarily targeted at critical, high-temperature industrial sectors requiring strict adherence to compliance framework standards like API 670.The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.

Power Generation: Used for tracking shaft vibration, thermal expansion, and casing displacement on large steam turbines, utility gas turbines, and massive hydroelectric generating units.
Oil & Gas (Refineries & Upstream): Monitored on high-speed centrifugal/axial compressors, massive crude oil pump sets, and turbo-expanders where a breakdown would cause catastrophic downtime.
Petrochemical & Chemical Processing: Applied to critical ethylene plant machinery, mixers, and secondary processing reactors that must survive corrosive vapors and fluctuating processing temperatures.
Heavy Manufacturing: Deployed on secondary plant support assets like large induced-draft (ID) or forced-draft (FD) furnace fans in steel mills, as well as the high-heat bearings of drying cylinders in paper mill.

Q:What makes an "ETR" probe different from a standard 3300 XL probe?
A:The Extended Temperature Range (ETR) model is built with Perfluoroalkoxy (PFA) insulated probe cabling instead of standard FEP cabling. This material choice allows the probe head and its integrated cable to survive much higher extreme temperature fluctuations inside turbine casings or compressor environments.
Q:What Proximitor sensor should be paired with this probe?
A:Because this probe has a 5.0-meter total length, it must be paired directly with a 5.0-meter system 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor . The total length of the probe plus any extension cable must match the designated system length of the Proximitor sensor exactly. Because this probe is already 5.0 meters long, no extension cable is required to match a 5-meter Proximitor system.
Q:What target material is calibrated for this system?
A:The linear scale factory and performance accuracy specifications are calibrated using an AISI 4140 steel target. Attempting to measure against other metals will cause errors unless the Proximitor sensor is custom-calibrated for that alternative target material.
