Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 330173-00-05-10-02-00 is a 3300 series 5 mm proximity probe utilized across heavy industries for non-contact vibration monitoring, shaft displacement tracking, and predictive maintenance on critical rotating machinery. Because of its compact 5 mm tip, this specific eddy current sensor is targeted at high-speed machinery configurations where tight spacing prevents the use of standard 8 mm probes.The 3300 5 mm probe improves upon previous designs. A patented TipLoc molding method provides a more robust bond between the probe tip and the probe body. The 3300 5 mm system is orderable with Fluidloc cable options for preventing oil and other liquids from leaking out of the machine through the cable’s interior.
Application:
Oil & Gas Refineries & Pipelines: Monitors high-speed centrifugal compressors, turboexpanders, and pipeline transmission pumps. It tracks fluid-film bearing stability to prevent catastrophic rotor assembly failures.
Power Generation Facilities: Deployed on gas turbines, smaller steam turbines, and industrial alternators. The probe measures radial vibration and axial thrust bearing wear under high thermal operating conditions.
Chemical & Petrochemical Processing: Tracks the physical shaft alignment and gap changes of high-volume process pumps and mixers handling aggressive fluids.
Water & Wastewater Infrastructure: Installed within massive high-capacity water distribution pumps and aeration blowers to monitor mechanical imbalances or misalignments before they lead to downtime.

Q:Does this 1.0-meter probe require an extension cable?
A:No, a 1.0-meter probe system does not use an extension cable. It must be connected directly to a compatible 1-meter Proximitor® Sensor. Connecting this probe to an extension cable will alter the electrical length of the system, causing severe calibration and scale-factor errors.
Q:Can I mix 3300 5mm components with 3300 XL 8mm components?
A:Yes. The 5mm probe options are physically and electrically interchangeable with 3300 XL 8mm components. However, mixing XL and non-XL components limits the performance of your overall loop to the standard non-XL transducer specifications.
Q:Which Proximitor Sensors are compatible with this probe?
A:It is designed to connect directly with the Bently Nevada 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor configured for a 1-meter system total length.
