Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 330171-00-12-10-02-00 is a highly specialized 3300 5 mm Proximity Probe used extensively for condition monitoring, vibration analysis, and position measurement on critical rotating machinery. It operates via eddy current technology to measure the tiny clearances in fluid-film bearings without making contact.The 3300 5 mm probe improves upon previous designs. A patented TipLoc molding method provides a more robust bond between the probe tip and the probe body. The 3300 5 mm system is orderable with Fluidloc cable options for preventing oil and other liquids from leaking out of the machine through the cable’s interior.

Centrifugal & Axial Compressors: Measures high-speed rotor radial vibration and axial thrust position.
Turbo-expanders: Tracks tight clearances to prevent mechanical contact under high pressure.
Steam & Gas Turbines: Tracks continuous shaft displacement, structural vibration, and thermal expansion.
Mining & Metals: Applied to heavy-duty blast furnace blowers, large gearboxes, and grinding mill drives.

Q:How does this proximity probe work?
A:It uses eddy current technology to measure the gap distance between the probe tip and a rotating shaft. The system outputs a continuous DC voltage proportional to this physical distance.
Q:Does this model require manual bench calibration?
A:No. The probe, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors are designed to be completely interchangeable without individual component matching or bench recalibration.
Q:How can I test if the probe cable is damaged?
A:You can check cable continuity using a multimeter set to resistance mode. Any registered resistance between the outer cable jacket and ground indicates a grounded conductor that requires troubleshooting.
