Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 330171-00-08-50-02-CN is a 3300 Series 5mm Proximity Probe primarily for machinery diagnostics, vibration monitoring, and asset protection in heavy rotating equipment. The 3300 5 mm probe improves upon previous designs. A patented TipLoc molding method provides a more robust bond between the probe tip and the probe body. The 3300 5 mm system is orderable with Fluidloc cable options for preventing oil and other liquids from leaking out of the machine through the cable’s interior.

Power Generation: Monitors steam turbines, gas turbines, and massive generator shafts for critical vibration profiles.
Oil & Gas (Upstream & Downstream): Deployed on offshore drilling platforms, refineries, and petrochemical facilities to protect multi-stage centrifugal pumps, turbo-expanders, and gas compressors.
Chemical Processing: Tracks the health of high-speed mixers, agitators, and process fans handling volatile materials.
Water & Wastewater Management: Installed on heavy-duty water distribution pumps and large aeration blowers.

Q:Can this probe be used for over-speed measurements?
A:Yes, but you must consult the manufacturer's application notes regarding eddy current sensors for tachometer or over-speed systems.
Q:Can I mix a 5 mm probe with an 8 mm Proximitor sensor?
A:No. You must match the probe diameter size with the specific Proximitor sensor configuration. Mixing a 5 mm probe with an 8 mm or 50 mm system will cause severe calibration issues, non-linear output errors, and faulty machinery trip signals.
Q:What technology does this probe use?
A:It operates on eddy current sensor technology. The system sends a high-frequency radio frequency signal to the probe tip, generating an eddy current field on the target surface. The voltage drop across this field is translated directly into distance changes.
