Product Description:

The Bently Nevada 330103-02-17-05-02-05 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system also fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability. All 3300 XL 8 mm proximity transducer systems provide this level of performance and support complete interchangeability of probes, extension cables, and Proximitor sensors, eliminating the need to match or bench calibrate individual components.

Power Generation: Used heavily on steam turbines, gas turbines, and hydro turbines to prevent catastrophic mechanical failures and optimize maintenance intervals.
Oil & Gas (Refining and Petrochemical): Installed on massive centrifugal compressors, turboexpanders, and multi-stage process pumps handling volatile hydrocarbons.
Chemical Processing: Monitors heavy-duty agitators, mixers, and blowers operating under severe thermal and corrosive conditions.

A:It measures the distance (gap) between the probe tip and a conductive target, such as a machine shaft. It converts this dynamic gap distance into an electrical voltage signal to monitor radial shaft vibration, axial thrust position, or speed.
Q:What is the default target calibration for this sensor?
A:Bently Nevada factory-calibrates these sensors by default to AISI 4140 steel. Using alternative target metals changes the scale factor and requires custom factory recalibration.

Q:What extension cable and sensor do I need to complete the system?
A:Because this probe has a 0.5-metre total length option, you must pair it with a 4.5-metre extension cable to create a standard 5-metre total system length. The probe matches seamlessly with a 5-meter 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor.
