Product Description:

The 330103-01-09-50-02-00 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probe’s cable incorporates a patented CableLoc design that provides 330 N (75 lbf) pull strength to more securely attach the probe cable and probe tip. The 3300 XL probe and extension cable also reflect improvements over previous designs. A patented TipLoc molding method provides a more robust bond between the probe tip and the probe body.

A:The probe relies on the eddy current principle. The connected Proximitor Sensor sends a radio frequency signal to the probe tip. This generates a magnetic field. When a conductive steel shaft passes nearby, the field strength alters, translating the physical distance directly into an output voltage signal.
Q:What is the default target calibration for this system?
A:The 3300 XL series probe is factory-calibrated to a standard AISI 4140 steel target. Using it on other metallic targets (such as aluminum or stainless steel) requires recalibration due to variation in material conductivity and permeability.

Q:Does this specific probe configuration require an extension cable?
A:No. Because the total length option is "50" (5.0 metres), this probe connects directly to a 5.0-metre Proximitor Sensor. It does not utilize an intermediate extension cable. Mixing a 5.0-metre probe with an extension cable will alter the system's total electrical length, disrupting calibration and skewing data accuracy.
