Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 330102-02-12-05-01-CN is an 8mm armored eddy-current proximity probe belonging to the industry-standard 3300 XL Proximity Transducer System. The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.

Centrifugal Compressors: Continuous monitoring of high-speed shaft vibration to prevent catastrophic fluid film bearing destruction.
Gas Turbines: Real-time axial thrust displacement tracking to safeguard turbine stages against catastrophic rotor-to-stator contact.
Steam Turbines: Monitoring rotor expansion and shaft relative vibration during critical thermal startup cycles.
Generators: Detecting rotor dynamic faults such as synchronous vibration or sub-synchronous instability.

Q:Can this probe be connected directly to a monitor or PLC?
A:No, the probe cannot be connected directly to a monitoring system or control unit without a Proximitor Sensor and matching Extension Cable. It requires a complete 3-part matched system (Probe + Extension Cable + Proximitor Sensor) to output a usable voltage signal (typically 7.87 V/mm or 200 mV/mil)
Q:What is the purpose of the "armor" option on this probe?
A:The "330102" specification dictates an integral stainless steel braided armor sleeve. This flexible casing surrounds the standard coaxial cable to protect it against physical abrasions, sharp bends, and harsh environment cutting hazards within the machine casing.
Q:Does this 9.0-metre probe require an extension cable?
A:No. Because the total cable length option is 90 (9.0 metres), this probe connects directly to a 9.0-metre Proximitor Sensor without the use of an intermediary extension cable. Mixing and matching total system lengths (e.g., using a 5-metre cable component in a 9-metre Proximitor loop) will cause significant calibration errors.
