Product Description:

The Bently Nevada 330101-00-18-10-12-00 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.

Q:Does this 1-metre probe require an extension cable?
A:No. When configured with a 1.0-metre total length ("10"), the probe connects directly to the Proximitor Sensor. It is calibrated out of the box to act as a complete 1-metre system. Adding an extension cable will alter the electrical system length and disrupt the calibration.
Q:What target material is this system calibrated for?
A:By default, the 3300 XL system is calibrated to AISI 4140 steel. Measuring other target materials without custom factory calibration will compromise accuracy and linearity.

Q:What is the system's output behavior?
A:The system creates an output voltage directly proportional to the physical gap (distance) between the 8 mm probe tip and the target surface. This operates via the eddy current principle to track shaft vibration or thrust position.
