The Bently Nevada 330101-00-15-10-01-00 is a 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probe for vibration monitoring, shaft position tracking, and rotational speed measurements in heavy rotating machinery. The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.The 3300 XL 8 mm system delivers the most advanced performance in our eddy current proximity transducer systems. The standard 3300 XL 8 mm 5-meter system also fully complies with the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 670 Standard for mechanical configuration, linear range, accuracy, and temperature stability.

Q:Do I need an extension cable for this model?

A:No. Because the total length option is "10" (signifying a 1.0-meter integral cable), it must be connected directly to a matching 1-meter Proximitor Sensor. According to the manufacturer data sheets from Baker Hughes, standard 1-meter proximity systems do not utilize an extension cable.
Q:Can I connect this probe directly to an older, non-XL 3300 Proximitor Sensor?
A:No. While the hardware components are physically interchangeable, the 3300 XL series probe requires a corresponding 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor to achieve full performance and accurate linear measurement calibration. Mixing components will downgrade the accuracy and linear range down to old, non-XL specifications.

Q:What target material is this sensor calibrated to?
A:.By default, all Bently Nevada proximity sensors are factory-calibrated to AISI 4140 steel. If your turbine or compressor rotor shaft uses a different alloy, you must request specialized custom factory calibration.
