Product Description:

The 31000-28-05-00-024-01-02 Proximity Probe Housing Assemblies are recommended when mounting proximity probes through the machine case and are typically used for radially mounted transducers, whether vibration or Keyphasor measurements.Use of a Proximity probe housing allows external access to the proximity probe and its extension cable, permitting gap adjustment or probe replacement without disassembly of the machine.

A:The main dome housing is molded from polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), which is an advanced engineering thermoplastic reinforced with glass and conductive fibers. This provides superior corrosion resistance compared to metal, controls static electricity build-up, and offers a Type 4X and IP66 environmental rating. The internal probe sleeve is made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel.
Q:Can I adjust the probe penetration depth after installation?
A:Yes. The probe sleeve features an adjustment range of ±0.5 inches (±13 mm) via the internal "D" dimension configuration. This allows you to fine-tune the sensor gap relative to the target shaft without completely removing the housing body from the machine.

Q:Does this part number include the Proximitor sensor?
A:No. This assembly contains the physical housing shell, the reverse-mount 3300 XL 8 mm probe, a 0.5-meter cable, and the listed fittings. The external Bently Nevada Proximitor Sensor must be purchased separately to complete the transducer loop.
