Product Description:

The 330101-00-46-10-02-05 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probes provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.

Application:

Steam and Gas Turbines: Tracks extreme radial vibration and axial thrust position on the main turbine shafts to trigger automated protective trip loops.
Generators: Monitors bearing oil-film health and rotor dynamic movement during high-load power production.
Cooling Tower Fans: Measures shaft vibration to catch gearbox faults before catastrophic blade shedding occurs.
Industrial Electric Motors: Monitors drive shafts on heavy-duty mill motors, fans, and shredders.

A:It is primarily used in eddy current proximity transducer setups to track the health of high-speed fluid-film bearing machines like steam turbines, compressors, pumps, and massive electric motors.
Q:Can I connect this 1.0-meter probe directly to a monitor rack?
A:No. Proximity sensors require a matching total electrical length to operate properly. A 1.0-meter probe must be combined with a 4.0-meter extension cable to interface with a standard 5-meter Proximitor Sensor. Alternatively, it can be paired with an 8.0-meter cable for a 9-meter Proximitor system.

Q:What is the standard measurement sensitivity?
A:When used with a complete 3300 XL system, it delivers a nominal output sensitivity of 200 mV/mil (7.87 V/mm) over a linear range of 2.0 mm (80 mils), calibrated by default to AISI 4140 steel targets.
