Product Description:

The 31000-00-00-15-000-01-02 Proximity Probe Housing Assemblies are recommended when mounting proximity probes through the machine case and are typically used for radially mounted transducers, whether vibration or Keyphasor measurementsUse of a Proximity probe housing allows external access to the proximity probe and its extension cable, permitting gap adjustment or probe replacement without disassembly of the machine. The 31000 Proximity Probe Housing Assembly is made of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), an advanced, highstrength, thermoplastic with excellent corrosion resistance.

Application:

General Heavy Industry: Industrial blowers, electric motors, and high-speed gearboxes.
Oil & Gas / Petrochemical: Critical centrifugal compressors, axial/radial compressors, and high-duty pumps.
Rotating Machinery Monitoring: Provides physical protection for radial vibration and axial (thrust) position transducers
Fluid-Film Bearing Machines: Used on centrifugal air compressors, refrigeration compressors, process gas compressors, and power generation turbines.

Q:Can I use this housing for axial position measurements?
A:No. While it is highly recommended for radial vibration and Keyphasor measurements, measuring shaft axial (thrust) position with dual proximity probes requires the 21022 housing instead.
Q:What is the adjustment range for the probe penetration?
A:The standard adjustment range for the probe penetration depth is ± 0.5 inches (± 13 mm).

Q:Are these probe housings designed to resist internal/external pressure?
A:No. While they are built to Type 4X and IP66 standards (hose-directed water), they are not pressure-tested before shipment. If your application requires a sealed, pressure-rated assembly, you must contact Bently Nevada’s custom design department.
