TThe Bently Nevada 31000-16-05-00-069-03-02 is a highly specialized Proximity Probe Housing Assembly for machinery protection and condition monitoring. it acts as an environmental barrier allowing external access to adjust or replace proximity probes while the machinery is operating.The 31000/32000 Proximity Probe Housing Assemblies are recommended when mounting proximity probes through the machine case and are typically used for radially mounted transducers, whether vibration or Keyphasor measurements.Use of a Proximity probe housing allows external access to the proximity probe and its extension cable, permitting gap adjustment or probe replacement without disassembly of the machine.

Q:Why use this housing instead of threading a bare probe directly into the machine?

A:A bare probe locks you into a fixed position. If the machine is running, you cannot change it. The 31000 housing assembly seals the internal machinery oil and pressures. This permits maintenance teams to untighten the locking mechanism and easily readjust the sensor gap or swap out a dead probe externally without an expensive production shutdown.
Q:Can I adjust the probe penetration depth if my calculations are slightly off?
A:Yes. The sleeve adjustment range for the Probe Penetration Option ("D" value) allows for an adjustment span of ±0.5 inches (±13 mm) during field installation.

Q:What happens if my cable run requires a longer distance?
A:The integrated 0.5-meter internal probe cable is designed to terminate immediately inside this protective junction box. From this terminal juncture, you must connect a standard Bently Nevada extension cable (typically 4.5 or 9.0 meters total system length) to carry the raw signal safely out to your remote Proximitor Sensor.
