Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 31000-16-05-00-066-03-02 is a specific configuration of the 31000 series Proximity Probe Housing Assembly, engineered to protect and externally access proximity probes mounted through machine cases. The 31000 Proximity Probe Housing Assemblies are recommended when mounting proximity probes through the machine case and are typically used for radially mounted transducers, whether vibration or Keyphasor measurements.Use of a Proximity probe housing allows external access to the proximity probe and its extension cable, permitting gap adjustment or probe replacement without disassembly of the machine.

Q:Can this unit be used for axial position measurements?
A:No. Bently Nevada explicitly recommends using the 21022 housing instead when measuring shaft axial position with dual proximity probes. The 31000 series is built for radially mounted transducers (radial vibration or Keyphasor measurements).
Q:Does this hardware configuration require external sleeve supports?
A:No. Additional sleeve supports are only required near the probe tip to prevent resonance if the penetration length is 12 inches (305 mm) or greater. Your 6.6-inch length falls well below this threshold.
