Product Description:

The 190501-20-99-04 Velomitor CT Velocity Transducer is a low-frequency version of our standard Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor. Its design specifically measures casing vibration velocity on cooling tower and air-cooled heat-exchanger fan assemblies that operate at or above 90 rpm (100 to 300 rpm typical). The Velomitor CT Transducer can measure vibration amplitudes at these frequencies as well as the vibration frequencies generated by the fan motor and speed reducer.

Application:

Power Generation Stations: Used on massive heat-rejection cooling systems to ensure structural integrity and prevent catastrophic fan blade delamination or failure.
Slow-Speed Industrial Pumps: Applied to water and wastewater treatment plants to monitor casing vibrations on massive, low-RPM pump systems.
Petrochemical and Refining Plants: Implemented on critical cooling infrastructure where explosive gas protection is required, leveraging the -04 multiple agency safety approvals option
Cooling Tower Fan Assemblies: Monitored to detect faults like unbalance, misalignment, or mechanical looseness in large industrial cooling towers.

A:The device has an adjusted downward range to catch slow-moving fans. It delivers ± 1.0 dB accuracy from 3.0 Hz to 900 Hz and ± 3.0 dB from 1.5 Hz to 1.0 kHz. This allows it to monitor fans running as low as 90 rpm.
