Product Description:

The 190501-16-99-00 Velomitor CT Velocity Transducer is a low-frequency version of our standard Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor. Its design specifically measures casing vibration velocity on cooling tower and air-cooled heat-exchanger fan assemblies that operate at or above 90 rpm (100 to 300 rpm typical). The Velomitor CT Transducer can measure vibration amplitudes at these frequencies as well as the vibration frequencies generated by the fan motor and speed reducer.

Cooling Towers: Monitors casing vibration on heavy industrial cooling tower fan systems.
Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers : Used on large fan assemblies within chemical plants and refineries.
Industrial Ventilation: Tracks structural integrity in massive HVAC/exhaust fans.
Gearbox and Motor Powertrains: Measures vibration frequencies simultaneously generated by the driving fan motor and the speed reducer (gearbox).

A:It requires a 33 mm (1.3 in) diameter flat mounting surface. Use the included 3/8-in 24 adapter stud and tighten the transducer to a strict mounting torque of 4.5 N-m ± 0.6 N-m (40 in-lbf ± 5 in-lbf) to guarantee accurate signal transmission.

Q:Can this sensor be calibrated in the field?
A:Yes. Field validation requires a portable shaker system capable of executing low-frequency sweeps at a target amplitude of 1 in/s. The measured voltage output must match the 100 mV/in/s tolerance profile before uploading to a verification template.
