Product Description:

The 190501-16-00-CN Velomitor CT Velocity Transducer is a low-frequency version of our standard Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor. Its design specifically measures casing vibration velocity on cooling tower and air-cooled heat-exchanger fan assemblies that operate at or above 90 rpm (100 to 300 rpm typical). The Velomitor CT Transducer can measure vibration amplitudes at these frequencies as well as the vibration frequencies generated by the fan motor and speed reducer.

Cooling Towers and Heat Exchangers:Casing vibration measurement on large industrial cooling tower fans and air-cooled heat-exchanger fan assemblies.
Petrochemical and Oil & Gas Facilities:Condition monitoring of slow-moving machinery in hazardous, explosive process areas.
Power Generation Plants:Balance-of-plant machinery tracking, such as raw water pumps, induced draft fans, and forced draft fans.

A:The standard Velomitor is designed for general machinery, whereas the Velomitor CT is optimized for low-speed applications. It is tuned to accurately measure very low vibration frequencies common in fan assemblies operating at or above 90 RPM (typically 100 to 300 RPM), capturing primary rotor issues alongside fan motor and gear reducer defects.

A:Yes. The transducer is built with a rugged 316L stainless steel case and is engineered to withstand 100% condensing humidity. It handles continuous operational temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C (-40°F to +185°F).

Q:How should it be wired and installed?
A:It utilizes the integrated 2-pin MIL-C-5015 top connector. carries the dynamic signal and output bias voltage (normally stabilized at 10.1 Vdc). For proper measurements, it must be rigidly mounted using the correct torque of 4.5 N-m ± 0.6 N-m to prevent false signal attenuation or data loss.
