Product Description:

The Bently Nevada 190501-16-00-00 belongs to the 190501 Velomitor CT series and is a dedicated low-frequency piezoelectric speed sensor primarily used to measure the vibration of the casing of low-speed rotating machinery at speeds not lower than 90 RPM. The Velomitor CT speed sensor is a low-frequency version of the standard Velomitor piezoelectric speed sensor, which typically operates above 90 rpm (typically ranging from 100 to 300 rpm). This sensor can measure not only the vibration amplitude at these speeds but also the vibration frequency generated by fan motors and gearboxes.

A:It is engineered specifically to measure casing vibration velocity on cooling towers and air-cooled heat exchangers. It is ideal for fan assemblies operating at low speeds at or above 90 RPM (typically 100 to 300 RPM).
Q:What is the maximum cable length supported?
A:The sensor supports a maximum continuous cable run of up to 305 metres (1,000 feet) without any signal degradation. Note that the continuous raw cable length straight from the factory maxes out at 300 feet, requiring splicing or an inline connector for longer installations.

Q:What is the recommended mounting torque?
A:It must be torqued to 4.5 N-m ± 0.6 N-m (40 in-lbf ± 5 in-lbf). Proper torque is critical; under-tightening or over-tightening alters the sensor's frequency response and introduces measurement errors.
