Product Description:
The 190501-03-99-01 is a specific configuration of the Bently Nevada Velomitor CT (cooling tower) velocity sensor. This is a low-frequency vibration sensor designed specifically for monitoring low-speed equipment, suitable for vibration monitoring of low-speed mechanical equipment such as cooling tower fans and heat exchangers.The Velomitor CT velocity sensor is a low-frequency version of the standard Velomitor piezoelectric velocity sensor. It is specifically designed to measure the casing vibration velocity of cooling towers and air-cooled heat exchanger fan components, which typically operate at 90 rpm and above (typical speeds are 100 to 300 rpm). The Velomitor CT sensor can measure not only the vibration amplitude within this speed range but also the vibration frequency generated by the fan motor and reducer.

Q:Can I detach the cable from this specific unit?
A:No. The "-99" connection option specifies that the unit is built with an integrated 32-foot (approx. 9.75 meters) cable already attached. If your application requires a separate MIL-C-5015 top connector instead, you would need the "-00" connection option.
Q:What makes the "CT" version different from a standard Velomitor?
A:The CT (Cooling Tower) version has its frequency response adjusted downward to 3.0 Hz to 900 Hz. This allows it to capture slower vibration frequencies on machinery running as low as 90 RPM, making it ideal for large fans and gearboxes.
Q:In what orientation should this sensor be mounted?
A:The 190501 transducer can be mounted in any orientation (vertical, horizontal, or inclined) without affecting its accuracy. Pin A moves positive relative to Pin B when the casing vibration moves from the base toward the top of the sensor.
