Product Description:

The Bently Nevada 190501-01-99-00 is a Velomitor CT (Cooling Tower) Velocity Transducer, engineered specifically to measure low-frequency casing vibration velocity on slow-speed industrial fans and heat exchangers. The Velomitor CT is a low-frequency variant of our standard Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor. It is purpose-built to measure casing vibration velocity on fan assemblies for cooling towers and air-cooled heat exchangers operating at or above 90 rpm (typically 100 to 300 rpm). The Velomitor CT Transducer is capable of measuring vibration amplitudes at these low frequencies, as well as the vibration frequencies produced by the fan motor and speed reducer.

Q:What mounting torque should be applied?
A:When seating the 3/8-24 thread stud onto the milled casing surface, the recommended torque limit is 4.5 N·m (40 in·lb) maximum. Ensure the mounting location is flat, clean, and entirely free of debris to avoid signal dampening.
Q:Does it require calibration adjustment if replacing a traditional Velomitor?
A:No calibration is needed if swapping out a failed Velomitor CT of similar electronic sensitivity. However, if you are upgrading from a standard 330500 Velomitor (which cuts off at 4.5 Hz), verify that your monitor configuration file accepts the lower 1.5 Hz filter threshold to accurately log lower RPM faults.

Q:Is this sensor compatible with my existing Bently Nevada monitors?
A:Yes. The 100 mV/in/s sensitivity profile directly pairs with standard machinery protection monitors. It interfaces perfectly with the Bently Nevada 3500 System via the 3500/42M or 3500/46M monitor cards, as well as the distributed 1900/65A monitors.
