Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 177230-01-01 is a loop-powered seismic vibration transmitter configured with a 0 to 25.4 mm/s (0 to 1.0 in/s) measurement range and a 10 Hz to 1 kHz frequency response. It pairs with the Bently Nevada 16925-15, a 15-foot unarmored, 3-conductor shielded 22 AWG interconnect cable designed to pass the transmitter's 4–20 mA signal and dynamic waveforms cleanly to control systems like PLCs, DCSs, or SCADA architectures.The 177230 Seismic Transmitter incorporates robust CM for reliability and implements an industry-standard 4 to 20 mA loop-powered transmitter.

Q:How does the system wire into a plant?
A:Because it is a loop-powered device, it connects directly to an analog input card on a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC), Distributed Control System (DCS), or SCADA system. It eliminates the need for standalone proximity drivers or external signal conditioning racks.
Q:Does it require custom software configuration?
A:No configuration is needed. The unit is calibrated at the factory to translate its specific velocity scale (0–25.4 mm/s) straight into the 4-20 mA loop current. You only need to scale the 4-20 mA analog input channel inside your PLC/DCS logic to match those exact physical limits.
Q:What happens if the cable needs to be longer or armored?
A:If 15 feet is too short, Bently Nevada offers the same unarmored cable in lengths up to 99 feet. If your environment requires physical impact protection, you will need to swap to the 16710 series instead, which provides an identical internal wire construction but wrapped in stainless steel armor.
