Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 177230-01-01-05 is a loop-powered Seismic Vibration Transmitter, and the 16925-13 is its corresponding interconnect shield cable used to route signals directly to a control system.The 177230 Seismic Transmitter is a simple, loop-powered device that can be quickly and easily installed. It can be integrated into your programmable logic controller (PLC) or controls system linked to a plant asset condition monitoring solution. Its simple design reduces training, maintenance, and service costs. The transducer helps you better manage downtime, optimize maintenance planning, and avoid unforeseen catastrophic failures of machinery assets.
Application:
Pumps & Water Treatment Systems: Monitoring horizontal, vertical, and centrifugal pumps for cavitation, impeller imbalance, or rolling-element bearing degradation.
Industrial Fans & Blowers: Tracking structural vibration, blade imbalances, and housing mechanical looseness in ventilation, exhaust, and cooling fans.
Electric Motors: Continuous monitoring of stator casing vibration and small-to-medium motor bearing wear.
Small Air Compressors: Capturing abnormal reciprocating or rotational displacement in auxiliary plant air systems.

Q:Does it require field calibration?
A:No. The transmitter features a fixed hardware configuration based on the suffix code. It requires no field configuration or adjustments during installation.
Q:Can I use a magnetic base for installation?
A:Yes, but with extreme caution. You can use a magnetic base for temporary data logging or testing, but you must roll the magnetic base onto the machine rather than snapping it down. A sudden snapping impact produces high-shock voltage spikes that can permanently destroy the sensor’s internal electronics.
Q:What is the purpose of the 16925-13 cable shield?
A:The 16925-13 cable uses a built-in braided shield to eliminate electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency noise. In industrial environments near large motors, unshielded cables distort the 4-20 mA vibration loop data. The shield should only be grounded at the control cabinet end to avoid ground loops.
