The 1336-SN-SP8A Printed Circuit Board or PCB is also known as a converter snubber board. It is a stand-alone SCR converter snubber board assembly. This converter snubber board is located on the converter assembly of the drive, and it serves as a replacement converter snubber board for the 1336 Plus, Force, Impact, and Plus II drives. It is compatible with the E-Frame drives.
The 1336-SN-SP8A PCB converter snubber board assembly consists of 3 snubber boards, a copper mounting plate, and stand-off screws for installation. The 1336-SN-SP8A converter snubber board is suitable for E-Frame drives with 230 Volts AC, 460 Volts AC, and 575 Volts AC input voltage ratings. It is also compatible with the 1336 Plus, Force, Impact, and Plus II drives that have nominal power ratings that range from 150 Horsepower to 250 Horsepower. The 1336-SN-SP8A converter snubber board is backward-compatible and it can serve as a replacement part for previous converter snubber board versions.
The 1336-SN-SP8A converter snubber board is installed close to the SCR module within the 1336 drive’s heat-sink. To install the 1336-SN-SP8A converter snubber board, first access the SCR assembly (check the troubleshooting guide for the 1336 IMPACT-6.2, 1336 FORCE-6.2, or 1336 PLUS-6.2 drives), then remove the screws holding the heat-sink. Align the bus bar holes with the copper plate that is provided, and fasten the converter snubber board to the bus bar. Attach the heat-sink while following steps in the reverse order of the removal process, and turn on the power.
