Product Description:

The AVC63-12 and AVC125-10 regulate the level of excitation supplied to the field of a conventional, brushless,synchronous generator.
Regulation is achieved by sensing the generator output voltage, converting it to a dc signal, and comparing the signal to a reference voltage. An error signal is developedand used to control the dc field power in order to maintain aconstant generator output.

Healthcare Facilities: Frequently used in hospitals to manage backup and emergency generator systems.
Manufacturing and Process Industries: Applied in manufacturing facilities and for industrial heating, electric welding, and primary transformer control for electrochemical processes.
Marine and Transportation: Common in marine vessel generator sets and mobile power units.
Power Plants: Used in emergency and stand-alone generator set applications, as well as for utility paralleling where reactive load sharing is required.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q:Generator won't build up voltage?
A:Residual voltage may be <12 Vac. Field flash with prime mover at rest: apply ≤24 Vdc through F1(+)/F2(–) with 1 Ω/volt series resistor for ~10s. Never flash while rotating.
Q:How to set underfrequency knee (UF KNEE)?
A:Run at nominal frequency, set VLT ADJ to nominal voltage.
Turn UF KNEE clockwise until voltage drops, then back slightly until it recovers.Jumper terminal 8→6a for 1 PU V/Hz; open for 2 PU.

Q:Is an Inrush Current Reduction Module (ICRM) required?
A:Yes, if you energize the unit from an active power source that is already running at full regulator input power rating. A Basler ICRM-15 is required to suppress severe inrush current and protect internal circuits.
