Description
The BACHMANN TI214 is a temperature input module designed for the Bachmann M200 automation platform, providing 14 independent temperature measurement channels within a single module. Each input channel can be individually configured to accept Pt100 or Pt1000 resistance temperature detectors (RTDs) using 2-wire or 3-wire connections, as well as Type J or Type K thermocouples, allowing multiple sensor types to be used simultaneously in one installation. This flexible channel configuration enables efficient adaptation to a wide range of industrial temperature monitoring applications. The module features 14-bit measurement resolution with 16-bit measured-value averaging, providing accurate and stable temperature acquisition while improving resistance to electrical interference. The averaging function can be configured from 16-fold to 64-fold, helping suppress noise in demanding industrial environments. Bachmann's 3-wire measurement technology compensates for voltage drops in symmetrical cable runs, delivering measurement accuracy comparable to more complex 4-wire systems while maintaining simpler field wiring. For reliable operation, the TI214 incorporates cable-break detection, external power supply monitoring, cold-junction temperature compensation, and 500 V galvanic isolation between the input channels and the control system. Each channel is electrically isolated from the system to improve measurement reliability and reduce the effects of electrical interference.
