Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 330704-000-040-10-02-00 is an 11 mm Proximity Probe belonging to the 3300 XL 11mm Proximity Transducer System. It is primarily for the non-contact measurement of shaft vibration, position, and speed in critical industrial machinery.The 3300 XL 11 mm Proximity Transducer System has a 3.94 V/mm (100 mV/mil) output for non-contacting vibration and displacement measurements on fluid film bearing machines. The large 11 mm tip enables this transducer system to have a longer linear range compared to our standard 3300 XL 8 mm Transducer System.
Application:
Shaft Radial Vibration: Capturing dynamic motion of the shaft within fluid-film bearings.
Axial (Thrust) Position: Monitoring subtle shifting of the shaft along its axis to prevent catastrophic internal rotor-to-stator contact.
Keyphasor Phase Reference: Providing exact timing markers for rotational speed and phase angle measurements.
Thermal Growth / Expansion: Measuring slow, static changes in position as machinery heats up to operating temperatures.

Q:What extension cable and sensor do I need for a complete loop?
A:Because the probe has a 1.0-meter cable, you will need to pair it with either a 4.0-meter extension cable (for a 5-meter system) or an 8.0-meter extension cable (for a 9-meter system). Match this total loop length exactly to a 5m or 9m 3300 XL 11mm Proximitor Sensor.
Q:Is this probe backward-compatible with legacy systems?
A:Yes. The 3300 XL series maintains backward compatibility with legacy 3300 extension cables and Proximitor sensors. However, they must be installed as a matched system length (either 5-meter or 9-meter configurations) to maintain accuracy.
Q:What is the default calibration target for this system?
A:The factory specifications and accuracy metrics are calibrated using an AISI 4140 steel target. If your machinery uses a different target material, the system must be recalibrated, or the gap voltage readings will lose precision
