Product Description:

The 330171-00-12-10-02-05 3300 5mm Proximity Probes improves upon previous designs. A patented TipLoc molding method provides a more robust bond between the probe tip and the probe body. The 3300 5 mm system is orderable with Fluidloc cable options for preventing oil and other liquids from leaking out of the machine through the cable’s interior.The system provides an accurate, stable signal output over a wide temperature range.

Fluid-Film Bearing Machines: Measures static shaft position (axial thrust and radial displacement) and dynamic shaft vibration.
Power Generation:Continuous health tracking of steam turbines, gas turbines, and large generators.
Chemical & Petrochemical Processing:Tracking high-speed rotating equipment exposed to harsh chemical environments.
Water & Wastewater Management:Vibration analysis on large vertical and horizontal high-capacity water transport pumps.

Q:What is the operating principle of this probe?
A:It operates based on the eddy current principle. The connected Proximitor sensor sends a high-frequency radio signal to the probe tip, creating a magnetic field. When a conductive metal target (like a machine shaft) moves near the tip, it changes the circuit impedance. This change provides a voltage output directly proportional to the gap distance.
Q:Does this probe require bench calibration?
A:No. The system allows complete interchangeability between the probe, extension cable, and Proximitor sensor. You can swap individual components in the field without manual matching or bench recalibration.

Q:Why does the system use a negative bias voltage?
A:Bently Nevada proximity systems typically use -24 VDC power. This legacy choice dates back to early industrial solid-state development when P-N-P transistors (which require a negative bias voltage) were more economical and robust than alternative components.
