The Bently Nevada 330101-00-27-50-02-CN is an industry-standard 3300 XL 8 mm Proximity Probe. It uses non-contact eddy current technology to monitor rotating machinery vibrations, shaft position, and fluid-film bearing clearances in demanding, hazardous industrial environments.The system provides an output voltage that is directly proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the observed conductive surface and can measure both static (position) and dynamic (vibration) values. The system’s primary applications are vibration and position measurements on fluid-film bearing machines, as well as Keyphasor reference and speed measurements.

Q:What target material is this system calibrated for?

A:Standard Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8mm systems are factory calibrated for AISI 4140 steel. If your shaft is made of a different alloy, target material correction factors must be applied, or the Proximitor sensor must be custom-calibrated.
Q:What is the primary application of this proximity probe?
A:This probe measures static (gap) and dynamic (vibration) distances between the probe tip and a rotating shaft. It is primarily used for vibration monitoring, shaft position, and speed measurements in critical turbomachinery like steam turbines, compressors, pumps, and motors.

Q:Can this probe be used without an extension cable?
A:No. The -50 option specifies a 5.0-metre total system length. Because the probe itself has an integrated 5.0-metre cable, it must connect directly to a 5.0-metre calibrated Proximitor Sensor (e.g., 330180 series) without an intervening extension cable. Adding an extension cable will distort the electrical length and cause severe calibration errors.
