Q:Is this housing pressure-rated?
A:No. The standard housing meets Type 4X and IP66 ratings for resisting weather and direct hose-sprayed water, but it is not rated for internal machine pressure. Probes are not pressure tested by default before shipping.
Q:Can I adjust the probe depth after installing it?
A:Yes, but within a limited range. The internal sleeve design provides a total manual adjustment window of ±0.5 inches (13 mm) to fine-tune the sensor gap relative to the target shaft.
Q:What machines typically use an 8.0-inch (080) penetration depth?
A:Large industrial machines with very thick outer casing walls require this length. Examples include heavy-duty steam turbines, gas turbines, centrifugal compressors, or large gearboxes. The extended probe sleeve guarantees the probe tip safely reaches the internal rotating shaft.
