Product Description:
The 190501-20-99-00 is a Bently Nevada Velomitor CT speed sensor. This sensor uses piezoelectric velocity sensing technology and is specifically designed for low-speed rotating equipment such as cooling tower and air-cooled heat exchanger fans. It is suitable for speeds of 90 rpm (1.5 Hz) and above, and can measure the vibration frequency generated by the fan body, motor, and reduction gears. This model uses a 1/2-inch conduit connector design, allowing connection to flexible metal conduits or armored cables. It is suitable for industrial wiring environments requiring conduit protection. An adapter is not included; the user must prepare the necessary mounting hardware.
Application:
Cooling Tower Fan Assemblies: This is the flagship application. The sensor monitors low-frequency vibrations generated by the slow-moving fan blades, drive shafts, and speed reduction gearboxes to flag imbalance or structural fatigue.
Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers (Fin-Fans): Extensively used in petrochemical plants and power stations to monitor structural resonance and blade imbalances on low-speed fin-fans.
General Low-Speed Industrial Blowers & Pumps: Any heavy-duty machinery operating at lower velocities down to 90 rpm (3.0 Hz) where low-frequency accuracy is vital.
Inaccessible or Wet Wet-Well Areas: The -99 32-foot built-in cable is designed for machinery where the termination point must be run completely outside a harsh, humid enclosure (like a cooling tower shroud or ventilation housing) without requiring an intermediate junction box near the wet zone.
