Product Description:

The Bently Nevada 190501-17-00-00 is a specific configuration of the Velomitor CT (Cooling Tower) Velocity Transducer.This model is explicitly optimized for low-speed machinery operating at or above 90 RPM, such as cooling tower fans and air-cooled heat exchangers. The Velomitor CT Velocity Transducer is a low-frequency version of our standard Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor. Its design specifically measures casing vibration velocity on cooling tower and air-cooled heat-exchanger fan assemblies that operate at or above 90 rpm (100 to 300 rpm typical).

A:The sensor can be mounted in any orientation. It requires a flat mounting surface of at least 33 mm in diameter. It must be tightened down to a specific torque profile of 4.5 N-m ± 0.6 N-m (40 in-lbf ± 5 in-lbf) to avoid measuring false casing strains.
Q:What is the maximum recommended cable length?
A:The signal can travel up to 305 metres (1,000 ft) over approved twisted-pair shielded cable with zero signal degradation.

Q:Can I use this sensor in hazardous environments?
A:No, the -00 suffix at the very end indicates No Agency Approvals. If your cooling tower requires ATEX, IECEx, or Class I Div 1 approvals, you must source a variation like the 190501-17-00-01 or 190501-17-00-CN.
