Product Description:

The 190501-14-99-CN Velomitor CT Velocity Transducer is a low-frequency version of our standard Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor. Its design specifically measures casing vibration velocity on cooling tower and air-cooled heat-exchanger fan assemblies that operate at or above 90 rpm (100 to 300 rpm typical). The Velomitor CT Transducer can measure vibration amplitudes at these frequencies as well as the vibration frequencies generated by the fan motor and speed reducer.

Aerator Motors & Blowers: Tracks low-frequency mechanical faults in water treatment basins.
Large HVAC Fan Assemblies: Monitors industrial air handlers running at lower rotational speeds.
Blast Furnace Fans: Protects heavy-duty exhaust and ventilation fans.
Cooling Towers: Measures structural casing vibration on massive cooling tower fan decks.

Q:What input modules are recommended for this sensor?
A:According to official Bently Nevada hardware guides, the PAV module is recommended for the 190501 Velomitor CT series. This module ensures correct compatibility with the sensor's power limits and bias voltage requirements, distinguishing it from newer IEPE sensors that favor PVT modules.
Q:Can the 32-foot integrated cable be extended?
A:Yes, the system supports a maximum total cable length of up to 305 meters. If extension cables are used, proper environmental shielding and splash-proof MIL-C-5015 connection interfaces must be maintained to prevent signal degradation.

Q:Why does the sensor require exact mounting alignment?
A:The internal seismic mass structures are orientation-sensitive. Pin A goes positive relative to Pin B when casing velocity shifts from the base toward the top of the transducer. Failing to seat the transducer tightly against a flat 33 mm diameter surface can induce false signals or attenuate high-frequency harmonics.
