Product Description:

The Bently Nevada 190501-14-00-00 is a Velomitor CT Velocity Transducer used to measure low-frequency casing vibration. This specific part configuration features a 3/8-24 to 1/4-20 thread adapter mount, a MIL-C-5015 electrical connection.The Velomitor CT Velocity Transducer is a low-frequency version of our standard Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor. Its design specifically measures casing vibration velocity on cooling tower and air-cooled heat-exchanger fan assemblies that operate at or above 90 rpm (100 to 300 rpm typical). The Velomitor CT Transducer can measure vibration amplitudes at these frequencies as well as the vibration frequencies generated by the fan motor and speed reducer.

Q: Where is this sensor typically deployed?
A:It is designed specifically for wet or humid low-speed environments, such as industrial cooling tower fans and air-cooled heat exchangers. It tracks casing anomalies on fans running at or above 90 RPM.
Q:What is the recommended mounting torque?
A:You must torque the sensor down to 4.5 N-m ± 0.6 N-m (40 in–lbf ± 5 in-lbf). Improper torquing will introduce false frequency responses or distort structural vibration readouts.

Q:What cable assemblies are compatible?
A:It interfaces with standard 2-socket MIL-C-5015 splash-proof cabling networks. Because cooling tower environments are incredibly damp, Bently Nevada recommends using a shielded twisted-pair cable protected by a Teflon jacket.
