Product Description:
The 190501-08-00-CN Velomitor CT Velocity Transducer is a low-frequency version of our standard Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor. Its design specifically measures casing vibration velocity on cooling tower and air-cooled heat-exchanger fan assemblies that operate at or above 90 rpm (100 to 300 rpm typical). The Velomitor CT Transducer can measure vibration amplitudes at these frequencies as well as the vibration frequencies generated by the fan motor and speed reducer.

Power Generation Facilities: Used on the immense heat rejection and condensation cooling tower loops of power plants.
Chemical Processing Plants: Applied to localized industrial fan setups moving volatile gases or vapor.
Petrochemical & Oil Refining: Critical for monitoring continuous-duty cooling blocks and refining processing units.
Wet & Dry Cooling Towers:Designed to monitor structural and casing vibrations on large cooling tower fan assemblies that operate at slow speeds (at or above 90 RPM).

The CT variant is uniquely tuned to monitor machinery moving as slow as 90 RPM. This allows it to detect subtle defects in fan blades, speed reducers, and slow-moving drive motors.
Q:What cabling is compatible with this model?
A:Because this model uses the 00 top-mount MIL-C-5015 connection interface, you will need a separate 2-pin mating cable assembly. Bently Nevada typically offers compatible 2-pin cables with splash-proof boots or armored conduit options to protect against the high moisture and harsh chemical exposure found inside cooling tower cells.
Q:What is the recommended mounting torque?
A:Proper installation torque ensures accurate high-frequency data transmission and prevents physical sensor damage. The manufacturer-recommended mounting torque for the sensor body onto its mounting stud is 4.5 N-m ± 0.6 N-m (40 in-lbf ± 5 in-lbf).
