Product Description:

The Bently Nevada 190501-06-00-CN is a Velomitor CT (Cooling Tower) Velocity Transducer.The Velomitor CT Velocity Transducer is a low-frequency version of our standard Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor. Its design specifically measures casing vibration velocity on cooling tower and air-cooled heat-exchanger fan assemblies that operate at or above 90 rpm (100 to 300 rpm typical). The Velomitor CT Transducer can measure vibration amplitudes at these frequencies as well as the vibration frequencies generated by the fan motor and speed reducer.

Application:

Cooling Towers: Used widely in large chemical plants, refineries, and power generation facilities to monitor the massive fan systems that reject process heat.
Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers (Fin-Fans): Implemented on the structural frame or bearing houses of large aerial coolers to detect mechanically induced stress.
Speed Reducers / Gearboxes: Tracks localized defects stemming from internal gear meshes and structural misalignments.
Fan Drive Motors: Monitors the high-speed and low-speed structural anomalies passed through the motor housing.

Q:What is the proper mounting torque for this sensor?
A:When installing the base adapter or stud, tighten it to 4.5 N-m ± 0.6 N-m (40 in-lbf ± 5 in-lbf). Improper torque directly causes signal distortion or unrepresentative machine vibration readings.
Q:Can I orient the sensor at an angle?
A:Yes. The transducer can be installed in any orientation (vertical, horizontal, or angled) without degrading the velocity signal accuracy.

Q:What is the maximum supported cable distance?
A:The sensor supports up to 305 metres (1,000 feet) of continuous Bently Nevada approved cable with zero signal degradation.
