Product Description:
The Bently Nevada 190501-06-00-04 is a Velomitor CT (cooling tower) velocity sensor primarily used in industrial cooling towers and air-cooled heat exchanger fan assemblies, which typically operate at low structural speeds. The Velomitor CT velocity sensor is a low-frequency version of the standard Velomitor piezoelectric velocity sensor, specifically designed to measure the casing vibration velocity of cooling towers and air-cooled heat exchanger fan assemblies (typically operating at 100 to 300 rpm, minimum 90 rpm). This sensor measures the vibration amplitude at these frequencies, as well as the vibration frequency generated by the fan motor and reducer.

Q:Can this sensor be mounted at any angle?
A:Yes. The solid-state internal piezo-velocity design allows the transducer to be mounted in any physical orientation (vertical, horizontal, or inverted) without degrading sensor performance.
Q:What is the proper installation torque?
A:The sensor casing must be tightened to a specific mounting torque of 4.5 N-m ± 0.6 N-m (40 in-lbf ± 5 in-lbf). Under-torquing can cause signal loss at low frequencies, while over-torquing can warp the internal crystalline structure.
Q:How should this low-frequency loop be calibrated?
A:Standard high-frequency shakers cannot accurately test the 3.0 Hz limit. Maintenance teams utilize specialized portable low-frequency calibrators (like the Model 9210D) to perform full NIST-traceable loop checks directly at the machine running speed.
