Product Description:

The 190501-03-99-CN Velomitor CT Velocity Transducer is a low-frequency version of our standard Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor. Its design specifically measures casing vibration velocity on cooling tower and air-cooled heat-exchanger fan assemblies that operate at or above 90 rpm (100 to 300 rpm typical). The Velomitor CT Transducer can measure vibration amplitudes at these frequencies as well as the vibration frequencies generated by the fan motor and speed reducer.

Application:

Cooling Tower: Measures the casing vibration velocity of cooling tower fan assemblies, suitable for low-speed large fans with speeds ≥90 RPM (typically 100–300 RPM).
Air-Cooled Heat Exchanger: Monitors the casing vibration of air cooler fans, detecting faults caused by blade imbalance, bearing wear, etc.
Large Low-Speed Rotating Machinery: Monitors the casing vibration of any low-speed rotating equipment with speeds above 90 RPM.
Fan Motor Monitoring: Simultaneously measures the vibration frequency generated by the fan motor and its reduction gear.

Q:What is the maximum cable length? Can it be extended?
A:The maximum continuous cable length is 91.44 meters (300 feet). For longer distances, cable splicing or a connector must be added to the sensor end.
Q:What is the operating temperature range of this model?
A:The sensor body can operate over a wide temperature range, but the calibration parameters guarantee accuracy only within the range of +20°C to +30°C. Use outside this range may result in reading deviations or machine protection failure.

Q:Can this sensor be used in high-speed equipment?
A:Although the frequency response can reach 1,000 Hz (60,000 CPM), the Velomitor CT is designed for low-speed equipment. For high-speed equipment, it is recommended to use the standard Velomitor sensor for better high-frequency performance and dynamic range.
