Product Description:

The Bently Nevada 190501-03-99-00 is a Velomitor CT (Cooling Tower) Velocity Transducer — a rugged, casing-mounted vibration sensor engineered specifically for measuring low-frequency vibrations in demanding industrial settings. As a low-frequency variant of our standard Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor, the Velomitor CT is purpose-built to measure casing vibration velocity on cooling tower and air-cooled heat-exchanger fan assemblies operating at speeds of 90 rpm and above (typically 100 to 300 rpm). This transducer is capable of detecting vibration amplitudes at these operating frequencies, as well as the vibration frequencies produced by the fan motor and speed reducer.

Application:

Cooling Towers: It monitors large, low-speed fan assemblies to prevent catastrophic blade or structural failures.
Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers (Fin-Fans): It measures casing velocity on slow-moving fans typically found in refineries and chemical complexes.
Industrial Ventilation Systems: It captures structural vibration on massive air-handling units and industrial blowers operating above 90 RPM.
Slow-Speed Gearboxes & Speed Reducers: It detects mechanical degradation in gear meshes coupled with low-frequency fan assemblies.

Q:Can I mount this transducer in any direction?
A:Yes. The solid-state internal electronics allow the sensor to be mounted at any orientation (vertical, horizontal, or inverted) without affecting calibration or performance.
Q:What happens if the transducer is improperly installed?
A:Improper installation directly degrades mechanical wave transfer from the machine casing. This decreases amplitude tracking accuracy, distorts frequency response, and creates false high/low vibration signals that can cause missed faults or trip the machine unnecessarily.

Q:How do the electrical pin connections work?
A:The sensor relies on a standard 2-socket MIL-C 5015 connection layout. Pin A moves positive relative to Pin B when the physical casing velocity shifts from the base to the top of the transducer housing.
