Product Description:

The 190501-02-99-01 Velomitor CT Velocity Transducer is a low-frequency version of our standard Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor. Its design specifically measures casing vibration velocity on cooling tower and air-cooled heat-exchanger fan assemblies that operate at or above 90 rpm (100 to 300 rpm typical). The Velomitor CT Transducer can measure vibration amplitudes at these frequencies as well as the vibration frequencies generated by the fan motor and speed reducer.

Application:

Cooling Towers & Heat Exchangers: It is explicitly optimized to monitor large-diameter fan assemblies and air-cooled heat exchangers found in power plants, oil refineries, and chemical facilities
Industrial Fan Assemblies: It tracks vibrations generated by slow-spinning fan blades, driving motors, and speed reducers/gearboxes to catch defects before a catastrophic failure occurs
Petrochemical and Refining Plants: Due to its hazardous area agency approvals (-01), it is deployed to monitor critical low-speed rotating machinery in explosive or harsh chemical processing environments.
Power Generation Facilities: It monitors large structural casing vibrations on slow-speed equipment, helping identify common mechanical faults such as rotor unbalance, structural looseness, and gear misalignment.
